Rawlinsville Volunteer Fire Company was founded in 1952, and housed a single engine. Our station was located across the street from what is now Clement's General Store on Martic Heights Drive. In 1954 our second station at 53 Drytown Road was erected and became the Fire Company's new home. In 1973 RVFC added a banquet room to the original 2-bay building constructed in 1954. In the early 1980's the banquet room was closed and was leased to the Holtwood Post Office, where it is presently. Now, almost 50 years later, Rawlinsville Volunteer Fire Company has moved again to our new station at 33 Martic Heights Drive The fire department purchased a parcel of land next to Clements General Store. Coincidentally, the new station is almost directly across the street from our very first headquarters on Martic Heights Drive. For 47 years the Rawlinsville Volunteer Fire Company has been proudly serving portions of Martic, Drumore, Providence, and East Drumore Townships. With over 65 square miles of first due service area, RVFC has the 3rd largest protection area in Lancaster County. Before that time, surrounding fire companies, which were founded before Rawlinsville, protected what is now the RVFC's territory.
